This morning, Jason forwarded me an email sent around his firm about "saving money" on groceries. It listed several blogs--many of which are the ones I read (you can check some of them out here, here, here and here--this one doesn't have info on bargains, but she has great ideas!). For some reason I have been operating (or burying my head in the sand) under the assumption that this was a little known "phenomenon" (practiced only by a few people in our area and the rest in other regions of the country). Regardless, I'm excited for lots of other people to start saving.
In that vein--(and since it has been a while since I posted about groceries)--I am still striving to continue my grocery budget of $60/week. Below is a picture of my Publix trip this week (I went over a bit...):
Total OOP: $64.84
Publix Savings: $47.93
My best deals this week were:1. 11 oz. Lawry's seasoning for .85 ea (BOGO stacked with 2 .50/1 coupons)
2. 8oz Kraft Shredded Natural Cheese: $.50 each (Publix price: 2 for $4 and I used a $1/2 Target (competitor) coupon stacked with 2 $1.00/1 Kraft coupons)
Disappointingly, I missed out on stacking a competitor coupon for the Ritz crackers which would have made them $.35. (Instead, I paid $.90)
You can find the Kraft coupons in a blog post here. Hurry, sale ends today!
